Recovery of an MMO Junkie Anime Art

Featuring: Morioka Moriko

Recovery of an MMO Junkie, unlike the last couple of anime series if done fan art for, the premises of this series isn’t completely unrealistic and doesn’t make me want to check that my doors are locked so no one could possibly catch me watching it, but I usually end up writing about so yeah… I’m bad at keeping my own secrets. But now on to Recovery of an MMO Junkie, the story follows Morioka a 30 something office worker, whose job has left her completely unfulfilled, depressed, and anxious around other people. With the only thing that makes her happy being playing MMO games, she quits her job, so she can stay home and play video games all day. Now I know what you’re thinking “that’s not very interesting” your right that’s why big parts of the series take place in the video game as Morioka interacts with other players and going on quests. The real interest in the series is when her action in the video game starts to bleed over into reality, with her meeting some of the people she plays with IRL. As the story progresses you see Morioka’s quality of life and her own self-worth improve as she meets more people and develops deeper bonds with them. The series has a message of having close relationships with others helps you when you’re in a dark place but it takes a feather touch to that message and doesn’t beat you over the head with it. So yeah I really recommend checking it out. Here is the fanart I drew of Morioka playing on the computer.

Why not share this with your friends that you think might enjoy a series like this.
