Recently (not recently at all I have just been lazy and forgetful, only getting around to posting the drawing now) I played through Ico. Even though it was a pretty short game, I enjoyed it, story and world-building was amazing. In Ico, there is very little dialogue all the information is given to you in the actions of the characters and the presentation of the world around it. Which I like, the game wasn’t dumping exposition, on me making me feel like I’m a five-year-old who can’t grasp simple concepts.
During my entire playthrough, I kept thinking this game would be right at home as a Studio Ghibli movie. I think it was the Idea of 2 innocent kids trapped in a dark fantasy world was what was doing it for me. Kind of like Princess Mononoke. So I thought hey I should try and draw the characters in the Ghibli style. I Feel like it came out alright, but I think at this point I’m completely over trying to copy other art styles, it’s just so frustrating and annoying.
